Tinnitus of the Inner Ear

The inner ear is one of the most sensitive and isolated parts of the body. This is your whole body’s means to protect it against toxins. However, the special physical, anatomical and chemical isolation of this body part has led reduced chances of easier treatment of disorders in the inner ear. But through tinnitus, that sound you hear inside your ears or head, has made inner ear disorders to be determined.
Tinnitus is that ringing sound in your ears or head, and it can arise as a symptom of diseases. This is usually the case if the tinnitus aggravates or gets worse over the period of a few months. Some diseases associated with this are Meniere’s, Bechet’s, or autoimmune inner ear disease. These usually consist of syndromes with progressive hearing loss, possibly accompanied by dizziness. The middle option works similarly to the catheter. The difference that they have is that the round window microcatheter makes room for self-medication.
There are also medications given to patients who experience inner ear tinnitus as caused by other inner ear diseases. People who have the Meniere’s disease apply an aminoglycoside antibiotic called gentamicin. This medication is directly placed in the inner ear to wipe out the vestibular function and cure vertigo. Usage of corticosteroids is recommended for those who have sensorineural hearing loss, Meniere’s syndrome and AIED. When these steroids are applied directly to the inner ear, tinnitus could be lessened.
Possibly one of the most interesting medication combinations is Lidocaine and dexamethasone, the combination of which can be applied via inner ear perfusion. A study has revealed that 83 percent of patients who experienced dizziness and perfusion benefited from the treatment. Another study’s results showed that with the same drug combination, hyaluron perfusion and intravenous Lidocaine helped 76.9 percent of patients after three months of treatment. After a year on that program, 83.3 percent reported improvement.
Glutamate intake should be noted by the patient. Excessive intake of this can increase the likelihood of tinnitus. In the meantime, three drugs are registered by the medical evaluation of Henry Ford Health System for the treatment of tinnitus.
These three are memantine, caroverine, and magnesium. Memantine has glutamate fighters that could relieve inner ear diseases causing tinnitus. Caroverine has been shown to prevent high activity by glutamate receptors. Magnesium has been shown to prevent noise-induced hearing loss, and has been seen to significantly decrease inner ear fluid when patients were exposed to strong noise.
